Links are not active in the Document window—that is, clicking a link does not take you to the linked document. You can open the file associated with a link in Dreamweaver if you want to edit the linked file, but you must test links in a browser. See About testing your site.
To test links in a browser:
Choose File > Preview in Browser or click F12.
You must preview your pages in a browser to test your links.
To open linked documents in Dreamweaver, do one of the following:

Select the link and choose Modify > Open Linked Page. |

Press Control (Windows) or Command (Macintosh) and double-click the link. |
Note: The linked document must reside on your local disk.
